Fontagent pro item cannot be modified5/16/2023 ![]() So it is time to run the font doctor and any other tests I can to see what the problem is. I went back to the file that I changed and was corrupt and did the same thing only I changed all the fonts to generic Arial. The only difference I see is some fonts used in one that aren't used in the other. Now, this one DOESN'T have a problem and opens fine. I make changes to it and save as CS4 and it seems fine. So today, as a test, I opened a different old AICS3 file (that was created in CS3 before I upgraded to CS4 and Fusion ON) it opens fine. However, once the file was closed and I tried to reopen it, it threw this "badly formatted error". So I did a "save as" and it seemed to save OK. Then I made extensive changes to it and hit cmd-s and it said it couldn't save it. I took an existing CS3 file I did last year with Fusion installed and working that needed to be reworked for this year and saved it as CS4. Yes, but was the file corrupt because of Fusion first? If so, then turning it off and trying to open a file is closing the barn doors after the cows are gone. FontAgent lets you set up multiple libraries to avoid confusion if you receive fonts from clients or other outside sources. The easiest way to begin building a comprehensive library is simply to drag your hard-drive icon into the library pane on the left. FontAgent’s printed documentation is sparse, but font-management novices will appreciate the application’s simple tutorial when they’re getting started = it’s located in the Secrets menu. The upper right pane shows sets, and the lower right one is for previews. On the left of the main window is the library and sets pane its tabs are similar in appearance to Microsoft Internet Explorer’s various tabs (History, Favorites, and so on). ![]() Libraries, Sets, and SecretsįontAgent Pro’s multipaned window interface is similar to Font Reserve’s and Suitcase’s, but FontAgent Pro has some subtle differences. But most casual users don’t need to worry about such issues. This feature is an asset for pro designers, who often use fonts that might conflict or become confused with system fonts. ![]() FontAgent will move your original system fonts into a new folder that you can easily retrieve in an emergency. This allows you to use FontAgent Pro to activate, deactivate, delete, or move system fonts wherever or however you wish. If you let FontAgent Pro take control of your system fonts, it then copies them into a new FontAgent Pro fonts folder.
